In 1991, Harry Culpen and David Woods founded their design practice in Stamford, Connecticut, after managing one of the largest architecture firms in the country and completing projects all over the world. As the clients have expanded, so to has the practice from the humble beginnings in retail planning and historic renovation to more complicated commercial institutional and residential projects. They have broadened their focus to include the application of environmental technologies and materials.

In order to achieve these goals, CWA designs with a fully integrated CAD system that combines 3D projections with construction documentation. 3D building models and space representations help to make the design objective comprehensible, even to those without architecture experience. We believe that visual communication will lead to better understanding and informed decisions during design phases and to clear direction and communication during the construction phases.
