Wharfside Commons
Once again working with the Richman Group, CWA has designed this 96 unit housing project on an important urban site in Middletown CT , just a few blocks from Wesleyan University . It is now hailed as the finest community project, meeting significant housing needs in the downtown.

Plan layouts establish a unique model for affordable housing. Each building is 4 stories with 4 units per floor and a central corridor that is open to the outside, fresh air. As such, each apartment has it's own exterior entrance. Individual 4 story buildings are grouped into 3's with a central landscaped courtyard / forecourt facing the street so that the massing blends with it's urban neighbors. The buildings are also stepped down the hill towards the river.
