THE MARVELWOOD SCHOOL, KENT, CT
The Marvelwoood school decided to proceed with
an expansion of the existing gymnasium, some 6 years after the purchase
of this beautiful hill top campus from the Kent School. The original
master plan concept was revised to include a slightly smaller gym structure
on the south side of the original gymnasium. It created two courtyards
in the intermediate space, used as outdoor student gathering "rooms"
connected to both entrances. The original gym will be considered for
use as a student - arts and activity center, now that the new facility
is complete.
Construction was completed in 2007.
Halper Owens Associates Architects, completed master plan concepts for
the campus.
