Ashburton Avenue - Site B, Croton Heights

Of the two Croton Heights projects site B completed construction first. The projects are a block away from each other and designed to be identical in style and materials. Both are medium rise urban apartment buildings in a neighborhood of similar scale.

The design for Building B contains 60 units in an "L" configuration on a corner site; 5 stories of apartments above a single story base. Common and community spaces located on the ground floor include: lobby, offices, fitness center, community room, computer center and storage areas. Individual units are laid out in apartment block standards of a double loaded corridor, central elevator circulation at the corner, and fire stairs at the ends. Units are typical 1 & 2 bedroom, with a few 3 bedrooms. The articulation of the massing is with brick, precast and stucco, reminiscent of older New York City apartment buildings.
