Fairmount Road - Affordable Multi-Family

This development, still in planning stages, takes advantage of an approximate seven-acre site located in Goldens Bridge, NY. The site is restricted by the presence of a large, buffered wetlands and steep, wooded terrain. Currently zoned for single family residential, the property would require a zone change to multi-family use. Within these limitations, the most sensitive approach to both site and context was to create five separate buildings, each accommodating between ten and twelve apartments, in a 40/60 mix of one and two bed units.

Parking is provided on grade, accessed from a loop road that encompasses the apartments, ensuring that parking is accessible and near to each served apartment unit. The use of traditional residential style materials and massing for the facade and roof help to present a contextual appearance that fits well with the surrounding condominium and single family homes already established in the neighborhood.
